Almerimar
This coastal urbanization belongs to the city of El Ejido, and constitutes an important core of tourism focused on Golf, beaches and water sports . Being close to the city of El Ejido has all the necessary services, such as the Hospital de Poniente. To the east, it borders the city of Roquetas de Mar but is separated from it by the Punta Espinas-Sabinar protected natural area.
The official name of the neighborhood is Ensenada de San Miguel, but it is popularly called Almerimar, name taken from a 'high standing' urbanization built around the marina and golf.
The marina of Almerimar is the second in capacity, 1100 berths, in Andalusia, and the first in Almeria. Generating around it an infrastructure of services such as hotels, resorts, restaurants, cocktail bars and nightclubs.
Almerimar has 5 kilometers of urban beach and as many kilometers of virgin beaches , within the protected natural space of Punta Entinas-Sabinar. The Almerimar beaches are not fine golden sand, but more well of coarse and grayish grain, and although it does not have as much charm as the more traditional sand, it is appreciated that it does not stay stuck and reboce us. The Punta Entinas beaches have the finest grain, and are frequented by naturists who practice nudism.
The sport in Almerimar has two prominent players golf and water sports. The Almerimar golf course has 18 holes and more than 800,000 meters surface squares. Golf is a tourist attraction in this area throughout the year, since both the conditions of the field and the weather allow players to enjoy this sport all season.
The water sports are the star of this town since It has the second largest nautical sports club in Andalusia, two windsurfing schools, a kitesurf school and a rowing and canoeing club . In the yacht club you can rent boats for a walk by the sea , and if you are going to stay for a few days you can sign up for one of the intensive windsurfing courses that are organized. On the lake that has the urbanization you can practice rowing in an Olympic canoe.
Most of the restaurants and pubs are located around the marina.
Almerimar offers a varied cuisine and we can choose between the traditional dishes of the area, such as migas or fish, or innovative dishes of more creative or international cuisine.
To take cocktails and go out at night there are also several offers that are concentrated around the port, pubs like the Maracas or Bayven , where they serve cocktails to the rhythm of dance music. The biggest and best-known discotheque in Almerimar is the Regatta, which has two floors and terraces with sea views, the disco has a resident DJ and on summer nights it is very popular with people who want to dance and have fun.
